Auricular acupuncture is one of the more widely used microsystems within oriental medicine. Microsystems use one aspect of the body – for example, the ears, hands or feet – to treat conditions that are present anywhere in the body. Reflexology, navel acupuncture and Korean hand acupuncture are the other examples of microsystems.
The most frequently clinically applied auricular acupuncture is the NADA ( National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) auricular acupuncture protocol. The NADA protocol has been shown in a variety of clinical settings to be beneficial in the process of detoxification from substance abuse as well as to help with the emotional, physical and psychological attributes involved in addictions.
At our clinic, we frequently use auricular acupuncture or acupressure to treat many common conditions include weight loss, insomnia, sinusitis, allergy, heart burn, acnes, and infertility.
