LED Light Therapy
What is LED Light Therapy and How does it Work?
Originally researched and developed by NASA, Light Therapy, also known as Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT), is the application of specific wavelengths of light energy to the body to obtain therapeutic benefits. The light energy delivered through light emitting diode (LEDs) devices is absorbed by the cell’s mitochondria, which in turn produces a natural photo biochemical reaction, a process similar to the plant photosynthesis. This process increases the production of ATP- the fuel that drives all cells, causing a cascade of metabolic events leading to an increase in micro-circulation, tissue repair, and a decrease in inflammation and pain. Therefore, it has a wide range of beneficial applications across many medical fields.
New at Longevity Acupuncture -Celluma Light Therapy
Celluma is unique and quite unlike any other low-level light therapy device available today. Based on NASA research, Celluma delivers blue, red and near-infrared light energy simultaneously to safely treat a wide variety of conditions that are cleared by FDA, including acne, wrinkles, arthritic pain, muscle spasm, hair restoration, muscle and joint pain.
We are excited to introduce to our patients the synergistic effects of acupuncture with Celluma Light Therapy on facial aging, pain and fertility treatment. It is safe, gentle and non-invasive, and there are no side effects associated with the treatment.
How can Celluma Light Therapy enhance my fertility treatment?
- Improve blood circulation in the ovaries, uterus and testes (in men)
- Increase cell’s mitochondrial function and energy (ATP) production
- Protect cellular aging due to oxidative damage
- Decrease inflammation
- Thicken uterine lining
- Speed tissue repair
- Soften scars and adhesions
How does it work with fertility acupuncture treatment?
- For natural conception and IVF/IUI preparation, 2 treatments a week during the Follicular Phase (cycle day 1-ovulation) is recommended
- For patients undergoing IVF stimulation cycle, 2-3 treatments a week leading up to the day of egg retrieval is recommended
- For post retrieval patients, 1-2 treatments are recommended to reduce inflammation and swelling
- For Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), 2-3 treatments a week starting from the beginning of the cycle is recommended to help building the endometrium lining
