Recurrent Miscarriages

Miscarriages happen more often than you know. The rate of miscarriage in the first trimester can be as high as 50%. Many women miscarry without even knowing it, and they can go on to have a healthy pregnancy without difficulty. However, recurrent miscarriage refers to two or more consecutive pregnancy losses. When you have had two or more miscarriages in a row, you should consult with your doctor for a check-up for potential causes, such as hormonal imbalance, blood clotting disorders, or uterine abnormality.

It is understandable for women to experience anxiety and depression after recurrent pregnancy loss. Some women are living in such fear of losing the baby again that they cannot fully enjoy life during the first-trimester pregnancy. Regular supportive acupuncture along with meditation practice proves to be extremely beneficial to promote deep relaxation and reduce the risk of miscarriage.

The benefits of acupuncture are:

• Increasing blood flow to the ovaries, help to nourish the follicles to create better quality eggs and embryos

• Increasing blood flow to the testicles for better sperm quality, which is also important for embryo quality, especially in the case of ICSI

• Nourishing the developing fetus by improving the blood flow to the placenta and preventing uterine contractions

• Releasing endorphin, relaxing the body, and reducing the stress level to prevent early uterine contractions
